Walthams first silver dials
I just received a 645 with Waltham's Deco-ish Silver plated early 19-teens "Better visibility" RR dial. Amazing the "fingerprints" of the last culprit to touch it!

Putting the dial in a silver cleaner dip made a great deal of difference, and even cleaned out where (due to extreme tarnishing) the Silver actually "burned off" to the copper at the Dial perimeter. Still much improved, and worthy (to me at least) of keeping on the watch.

These Purpose-built adffordable RR Grade 21 Jewel Waltham 645 models are uncannily accurate, just like their 18s Cousins the "845". If you want I will show more after this already great running movment has been given the 1st class DCA treatment.

What silver dip product did you use? Thanks.

"Ellanar" Silver Cleaner. I has the solution in a neat little bottle with a "Dip Basket" included. You can also buy it in "Bulk" which I expect I will do when this first 8 ouce jar loses it's "punch".
