My new watch cabinet
Just thought I'd share. My Stepfather is a very good woodworker so we made a good looking watch display cabinet. I like it and its a good way to show off or get easy access to your favorite pieces.

I'm still playing with hooks/hangers but I think it looks nice so far Wink

Don't know how I missed this post, but the piece Ed Kitner built for my Rosberg bench fits great and compliments it beautifully as well as being very functional. I also have one of Ed's display cabinets and it is a beauty also.

I missed it, too.

Great work, Ed. I like the decorative kerf inlays using the darker stock at the joints of the drawer trays.

Edward, The wood in that wall cabinet is gorgeous. What is it?

Dave, it is Tiger Maple.
When I mixed the water base stain I thought I had it dark enough, forgot Maple does not take stain like most other woods. Even with 3 applications I could not get it as dark as I wanted.

From these pictures I think the color is fine. And too, with time it will age a little darker.

Ed,
Your watch case is amazing...What did you use for the door hindge..I have been looking and trying to figure it out...

Just regular butt hinges mounted on the door frame end and outside of the case.

Nice weather you are having down here Gary. I am leaving in the morning to go back to "Artic" NY.
Eric and Roger said they would keep it nice and cold for me so I didn't miss anything Big Grin
