Movement Identification
Here is a movement I found while digging in my yard. Not really, I found it going through a watch lot I purchased. The plates say, Wallace & Simmons Providence, R.I. Pat d Dec. 6, 87. Anyone know the maker of this movement?
Thanks,
Brian C.

John, I think you're right. The only thing is that it's an 11 jewel, nickel, h/c movement and the Seth Thomas Book doesn't list an 11j nickel movement in the model 2.
Thanks,
Brian C.

Brian,
It is listed in "The Beginning to End" book by Ehrhardt as grade "156";

(18s - 11j - HN2L - U - "156" - (EA 806)

The gilt model is grade "56";

(18s - 11j - HG2L - U - "56" - (EA 806)

Just as a follow-up...

The Seth Thomas section in the "Complete Guide to Watches" shows a similar movement on page 394 of the current 2005 Edition. It is described as "Seth Thomas Model 2, 18 size Hunting" in the caption.
