Samie L. SmithWaltham mdl. 1857 George Washington
I was left 2 Watches a couple of weeks ago for service i thought today i would take a look and see what they were ,,this is one of them and i found it interresting..
what i know is it,s a Waltham model 1857 nickel movement signed George washington 11 jewel hunting case ,pillar plate is signed on the back side (Woerds Patent )housed in a eagle hallmarked case.
May be a common watch but the frist one i have seen.

John PavlikSamie,
Interesting.. Seems to have been made in a very small run of 89 watches...Nickle plate Mdl 57's are not to common.. that along with stem winding and lever setting make it a very nice combination..Shuggart lists it as being a key wind and has a couple of stars by it listing..With the 2 plate jewels it almost appears to be a forerunner of the 1877 model..
