Do These Numbers Match?
I run into this often collecting numbers for my site awcco.ca

I have chosen not to include this case because I will never be sure but would like your opinions.

Markings on the case back put it in a category where it would have a 6 digit serial number, see the red arrow.

The 4 digits stamped on the case rim should match the last 4 digits on the case back.

What numbers do you see?

Case back.

Lorne, the best I can do with my poor old eye is:

Pic 1, 6 numbers - 256698

Pic 2, 4 numbers - 8588 or possibly 8598

I am more down the line of 8698 on the back cover or 8690.

I can see 8696 on both.
For what its worth.

It's worth plenty.

Although I still won't use the number I think they are a match.

It holds a 1902 Waltham CRTS which fits the timeframe.

After looking at more of these than I can count I would say that on the case rim these numbers were individually stamped by hand as the numbers often don't line up, are unevenly spaced, die not perpendicular to the surface and many are rotated a few degrees.

Thanks to everyone for taking a look.
