Dr. Debbie IrvineWANTED!!! A "FRED STRAUB" DIAL...
WANTED!!! A "FRED STRAUB" DIAL...
Our friend Tony Dukes recently purchased a very rare and unusual FISHSCALE DAMASKEENED Hamilton 992 with the jeweler's name on the movement. Now Tony needs a matching dial. So if anyone has a Fred Straub Hamilton dial, in 3-foot configuration whether loose or on a movement post the complete details right here. Fred Straub has apparently been a retail jeweler in Abington, Pennsylvania since 1894 http://www.fredhstraub.com/ so the dial should not be too difficult to find. Tony is willing to pay your price for a nice dial or he'll gladly buy a complete watch.

Ed UeberallLindell,
We have three "Fred Straub" movements in our database, two are 18 size Grade 940s; one is a 16 size Grade 992 (S/N 1,048,265) with the "fish scale" damaskeen. All three are listed
without a matching Straub dial. It is possible that Straub ordered the private label markings only for the movements. I believe Hamilton would mark the movements at no charge if a minimum number were ordered at one time, but marking the dial may have incurred an extra charge.
