Richard RomeroNice watch Chris,
There is a watch in the
Sangamo Specials, Marked Factory Wadsworth Cases Database that has serial numbers very close to yours and the case is listed as YGF. Sometimes it’s hard for me to tell the difference between Green, Yellow, or Rose gold. In addition, often the gold color was distinguished by the gold content. Most often 10k is yellow or rose gold filled and 14k green or white. I have two Burlington Bull Dogs and both are 14k filled and they were advertised as yellow or green but one looks green and the other rose. Anyway below is a 1925 ad for the Sangamo Special which doesn’t show yellow gold filled as an option. Lindell had an auction here for a 14k yellow gold filled example and there are many listed in the database so both colors were available. It’s interesting to me that factory advertisements seem to have reflected common practice rather than what was actually available.

Chris AbellThanks Richard,
As you say strange they offer the two options, wonder if this was almost a typo on this ad and other adds offered YGF, I am just back from a show and was looking for comparisons seen a number of these in YGF some marked 60hr also and asking good money!.
