Bob WilliamsUse of the Shugart watch guide
From my previus post you may know I am working on a Elgin 12s grade:311 , 7 jewel year 1915. I went to the library and got a 2007 Number 27 Complete price guide to watches. It was a very helpfull book with lots of good information. However when I went to the elgin size 12 section I couldn't find a line item that semed to refer to my watch. As far as I know the watch does not have a "name" and I assume the grade is close to a modle number?
Can someone fill me in?
Maybe the watch is to commen to make the guide.
I am looking at page 189 of the book.
Again thanks in advance for your thoughts and consideration......

Bob WilliamsI am so impressed that Mr. Cooksey too the time to respond, I am new to all of this and I appreciate the insight. I'll look where you suggested. Am I right in my assumtion on "grade" being close to a model number ?

Barry RosellCooksey, I was going to send you a personal email and say "Thanks!", but figured all could read. I probably echo many others thoughts. You and Roy Earhardt have made this hobby what it is today, at least for me. Between your informative and practical guide (which I've got year after year lined up, dog-eared and well-used!) and Roy's hundreds of pages of photos and ads, I was educated in the world of pocketwatches. The information gained in those guides made the hobby interesting, spurred me to find out more elsewhere, and in general fanned the flame of a budding collector. 20 years later, with my love for pocketwatches only growing stronger, and my 12yr old son just starting to catch the bug, I THANK YOU sir!!
