James ShuttsVery cool Illinois dial
I just acquired this 18s Illinois key wind Mod 1, Grade 6 dating from 1886 & just fell in love with this dial. I have never seen one like it before. Has anyone? What say you.... Best, Jim

Mike LaForestI was JUST looking at this dial the other night! Sorry to say it was in a book
However, it was in Meggers/Ehrhardt's Illinois Watch Book, page 96. Of this dial it says, "The Rarer of the Two Twenty-four Hour Sunk Seconds Enamel Dials used on the "NO.4 Railroader" Grade."
How you did these things up, Jim, is a mystery to all! Beautiful dial!

Eric UnseltGreat dial, Jim -
Columbus has the same dial: same font, same 24hr intersected Arabic/Roman numeral scheme.

Richard M. JonesMike is right about the railroader grade being the movement for this dial. They are beautiful dials. I have the dial on an early keywound 18s Bunn and thought it might have been a Canadian market thing but it could just be a replacement.
