Theodore J. Brown Sr.Dueber Watch Co. 18s. Question
I was wondering if anyone can explain this: In some of the advertising I've seen for 18s Hampdens, the 21J "Dueber Watch Co." grade, even though it was obviously railroad grade, was not always listed as being guaranteed to pass railroad inspection as the New & Sp'l. Railway and the John Hancock were.Whether or not they intended it for RR use, it certainly was a popular model.Maybe due to the lower selling price?

Looking at material I have, it shows 15 jewel Dueber Watch Co. as unadjusted but the 17 jewel on up show as adjusted, so I am not too sure why that would be. The material I have doesn't mention which of their models are railroad grade & which are not.
Not any help I guess.
