Elgin BW Raymond Rebuild Questions
Hi, I'm new to all this so feel free to correct me on anything that's wrong.
I purchased this BW Raymond for $89. Looked it all over when I got it and even posted some questions elsewhere, that was more of a wristwatch forum, so here seems more appropriate.
Looking at the movement's mounting in the case, the screws are different, there are screw marks where a different movement was in the case, also I was told the disl is not original to the movement. Question is, where and how would I get the info on Elgin's to be able to put the movement back in a period case with a period dial? I've found all sorts pf info about this kind of thing on Hamiton and Illinois watches but haven't had the same success with this Elgin

I guess I'll have to ask elsewhere, I haven't got software or a clue how to reduce the photo's to post them here. All are too large is what the messge I get is. Sorry, I'm just not computer literate enough to manipulate the photo's, I have enough trouble taking them!!

Bill,
A picture would be a big help in getting your answers.
If you go to the section here on "How to photograph..."
You can learn how to reduce the file size in order to upload your pictures.

Bill, don't feel bad. You're not the only one that can't figure out how to down size photos. I'm lucky I can post this. Smile

Bill and Brian, download the frre photo program "picasa" from;

http://picasa.google.com/

I failed "windows for dummies" but learned very quickly how to use this for all my photo work. Remember when you are resizing and doing pics for IHC you have a 200k upload limit per picture. With picasa you have total flexibility for the bit count size of the picture
