A parts question
I've noticed that several parts supply companies list parts by the factory part numbers. How do I find out what the part number is for, say, a pillar screw for an 18s Waltham 1883? Is there a book or books that have listing of all the part numbers from various manufacturers? Or a website?

Regards,

The book "Illustrated Manual of American Watch Movements" E&J Swigart Company, Cincinnati, 1952, reprinted by S. LaRose has lists of parts and their factory numbers; however, there are no pillar screws listed for any Waltham movements except for the 8-day movement. Some of the book dealers who advertise in the Mart and attend regional meetings may have copis of the book for sale. The copy I have states that LaRose reprinted the book with permission from Swigart and that no part of the catalog can be reproduced without the express permission of Swigart. Someone may have purchased the rights to publication; I got my copy in the 1970's I think.
Plate screws for the 1883 model are listed as factory numbers 130 and 131, diameter of thread 1.20mm, and tap size 3.

I have spent the better part of an hour trying unsuccessfully to reduce the 1.8mbyte scanned image of a 1930 Waltham parts manual page to the 200 kbyte allowed for these threads and failed.
So I see for the 1883;

W.W.Co.
Screw# For
130 Barrel Bridge
130 Cock
130 Plate
131 Plate

these are all 1.2 Dia (mm?) Tap size "3"

Tap size 3 is described as 110 thread/inch, 1.2 mm max thd dia. with a tap drill size of 1.02 mm

sorry I cant send the whole page.
