Eugene BuffardWaltham Standard 19 Ruby Jewels Locomotive on movement.
I bought a Waltham Standard with out my watch book in hand. I was pleasantly surprised when I got home to check out what it books far. 3 Star Watch serial # 10099570. Does any one have any production Numbers and run amounts on these. 19 Ruby Jewels and Adjusted.

Eugene BuffardWhat first caught my eye was the pin wheel Dameskeeping. with the star dameskeeping under the balance wheel.
The photo does not do it justice. I took it with my Iphone.

Mike LaForestHi Gene. I hate you!
Your friend,
Mike
September 09, 2012, 17:56
Eugene BuffardI understand. It is a love hate thing. You love to see the watches. you hate that you did not find it for $50.
Here is the case the watch was housed in when I bought it.
September 09, 2012, 18:26
Eugene BuffardI looked at the watch movement again it looks like the ratchet wheel has been replaced because it has a dameskeeping pattern on it and the screw that holds it in place is not gold colored.
I changed the case to a gold filled case. The base metal one is about 40 years to late. I will be on the look out for a 1892 dial. and a couple gold case screws.

Mike LaForestNow.... look into my eyes... you are feeling very sleepy.... your eyelids are closing.... you are at peace... repeat after me: "I will send Mike an email when I'm ready to move this old watch...Mike is my friend...I will be good to Mike because I know he will love and cherish this old watch... you will not remember reading this and will wake up when I snap my fingers".
Loud FINGER SNAP occurs!!

Larry BuchanMy dial.
September 10, 2012, 13:49
Robert McClellandGene and Larry, the serial number run of your watches had 125 produced and, as Hubert showed in his post, they are referred to in the database as "1892 Special". There is only one other run of 19 jewel Specials with 100 pendant set produced. There is no way to tell how many of these Specials are marked as Waltham Standard the way yours are but it looks like at most there would be 225.

Eugene BuffardSo correct me if I'm wrong 125 lever set. and 100 being another variant being pendant set. Lets see 10% surviving. 2 out of 12 of the 125 are owned by members of Ihc 185.
You are correct mine is lever set.
It keeps getting better all the time.

Tom DunnGene;
Here's mine. I was told there were only 50 Standard lever set produced but that may be higher. I think 125 at most but I dont think all of them were marked like these 3. My # is 10099590

Tim PooveyNice score Eugene! Do you think no one paid much attention because it was a Waltham? I would be

all the way to the bank.
I'd rather have your luck than license to steal.
Tim

Eugene BuffardThe gold buyers did not pay much attention because of the Silveroid case.
It was at a walk-in auction.

Mike HodgeWe all deserve an acorn once in a while. Nice score.
