Larry LamphierBaton second hand?
I just noticed something in the Hamilton parts catalog that is a little confusing to me, and wonder of anyone with more knowledge than I can explain this to me.
On page 20 is the description of the different hands. I noticed that the Baton second hand looks nothing like the baton second hands we see on the 950B's. Is that because the second hand is called the "index" hand?
If you look, there IS a Baton second hand.
Thanks.

Larry

Edward L. Parsons, Jr.I think that's right, they call it "index". . . I found seconds hands on page 25 of the 1961 parts catalog we have linked on the site. It's listed as black and 7 mm long, which is correct for the Dial 332, the "spear" seconds hand they list is 6 mm, which would be right for the Dial 379.
Hamilton RWS dials have two sizes of seconds bit. The larger one (Dial 121 & 332) takes a 7 mm seconds hand (center hole to tip length) and the smaller one (Dial 379) takes a 6 mm seconds hand.

Larry LamphierThank you Ed, that clears it up for me, except where you get the number for the 332 Track dial. I cannot find it, or could not find, it when answering
your Quiz of the week on the 950B.
