That looks like three separate pieces nailed together - a watch bench base, somebody's workbench with a wood vise, and the top of a Hoosier.

Bring two or three large guys with you to carry that out. Even the bottom only will weigh a lot.

Peter,

I've got drawer & cubbyhole envy! Black walnut doesn't come cheap. Even my standard size walnut bench cost $600 (see photo).

A unique bench, I like the big top, but $6000-wow.

My bench started out as a beater green poplar and doug-fir plywood. I stripped it and stained it red/cherry. I veneered the drawer faces with some antique tiger maple I had. A little work can make any of these units look decent.

I went to Vegas this last weekend.. It sure has changed over the years.. Too high end for me now. the wife and i wanted to see a show "O" at the billagio.... 458.00 bucks for two garbage seats.... needless to say we passed (i still payed for it. As she found herself in a Tiffany Store). Gone are the days of a steak and egg breakfast for 1.99... Now, 17.99.... Traffic was horrendous even at 0030 hours..... Ugh
