Roger StephensDreaming or Just Confused? Hamilton "sunburst"
Dreaming or Just Confused?
Didn't Hamilton on a 18s.movement use the
"sunburst" damascening. I am thinking it was a grade 926. Somebody confirm this or tell me I am dreaming.

Roger StephensThanks Buster!! Now I know I am not dreaming or confused. Any way to know how many of this pattern were made? Am I correct in assuming this pattern on movement would be worth more than the first model pattern?

Buster BeckI don't know that we could ever figure out how many of these were made and with 100% accuracy. Depending on the watch model and condition, I would expect for the sunburst pattern to go for the very least 3-5 times the value of the regular pattern.

Jared BrinkerRoger-
I just sold a 926 in the sunburst pattern, so more than one grade was made with it. I read somewhere that they were made as a private label for a dealer of theirs. Don't remember name or where I read it...

Robert McClellandJared, nice to see you posting again. That 926 was sold to the Burr Freer Co. in San Francisco in November 1910. In Lowell Halligan's notes on the 926 he listed Freer as one of the wholesale houses that bought this grade with special damaskeening patterns. This 926 was sold to Freer in a batch of about 55 consecutive serial numbers.
