Roddy J. BruntonHi Dave,
I know this is an old post but I don't see any replies. I don't see any pics of the dial etc?
Anyway, what I can tell you is that C.H. Farquharson was a jeweller/optician/watchmaker who opened his business in Edinburgh Scotland in 1838 selling Scottish jewellery, ornaments, glasses, watches, American & German clocks etc. He was still in business around 1880, and likely continued till his death in 1882. It is not clear if he actually made any of the watches or clocks he sold or just ordered them with his name on the movement. He also had his label on the back of the clearly American made clocks he sold.
Regards, Rod

Dave TurnerThanks for the information Rod,
It's rather a plain working man's watch, evidently. Here's a poor picture of the dial.

Roddy J. BruntonLooks fine to me Dave,
The majority of these I have seen are fairly similar. I've come across a fair number of them while in Scotland.
Is the watch working?

Dave TurnerYes, it is. Wonder what the worth of it might be. I forgot, can we discuss values on here?

Roddy J. BruntonNot being silver, its kind of worthless Dave, you might as well just send it to me and then you won't have to worry about it anymore...

Dave TurnerI was getting ready to offer to trade for that cuckoo clock, but I see you already have an offer!
