Hey all,
I'm a bit perplexed by this case marked Rockford. Doing a search here didn't yield any info also searched the web and all I found was that yes there was a Rockford Case Co but that's about it. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

I am not a rockford expert but the Northwestern case co moved from Racine Wisconsin to Rockford Illinois and became the Rockford case co and did produce case's from 1883 to 1915 , and there seems to be some hint they had case's made by other case co.'s and stamped rockford . You have a nice one, are there anymore markings , does it have a rockford movement ?

I encountered a Rockford case once and here is all I found.

Industrial & Picturesque Rockford Dates to 1891.

I don't know if it was affiliated with the watch company who's factory pic is in here on P. 24.

Also referenced on P. 121 is the Champion Watch Co. which I have never heard of.

I bought it with a Hamilton 974 mated to it which dates to 1917. There are no other mvmt screw witness marks on it. I didn't need the Hamilton but I thought the case was cool and the price was right. I have never seen a case marked Rockford and was hoping someone here had one or could shed a little light on it.

Michael; Thats a Rockford CASE Co case as Kevin says, no affiliation with the Rockford WATCH Co but a nice Rockford WOULD look good in it.

Yes a nice Rockford would be appropriate but I purchased the watch for the case as it appeared to be period correct for a Hamilton 990 that I am in the process of having restored and acquired with no dial (I have one now)and no case or hands. The fact that the mvmt case screw witness marks line up with the 990 was a bonus. If you or anyone else here has a Rockford mvmt and would like to trade for a comparable case for the 990 I'm all ears.
