Bruce ByrdWaltham question
I recently purchased a 17 jewel Waltham model 1908(19253183). When I received it I noticed the watch was marked with WW Co and not the standard AWWCo, American Watch Co or any of the other markings that one normally sees.
Was this due to a a change at the company or a different era in the company? I have never seen one marked as such and was curious as to why..

Jerry TreimanThe watch company generally known as Waltham went through a number of name changes in its history. The "American Watch Co." (A.W.Co.) became the "American Waltham Watch Co." (A.W.W.Co.) in 1885 and the "Waltham Watch Co." (W.W.Co.) in 1906. It is common to see just W.W.Co. on movements from this era and later.
