Close serial numbers.
I thought I would check a few serial numbers of some extra Hamilton's I have. I was going to sell a few of them. I check a 926 that I was going to sell and the serial number is 289455. It runs better face down than face up but I think all it needs is a good cleaning. I checked my other 926 and the s/n on it is 289443. They are just 12 units apart.

Well I though I would sell a Hamilton 937 I have that has a bad balance staff. I have two other 937's that work and I already have a parts watch. I checked the s/n and it is 15451. I checked another 937 that I have that works and the serial number is 15453. Just two numbers difference. Now what is the odds of that.

Now I don't know if I should put a new balance staff in and have two that are that close together or just sell the one with the broken staff. I certainly don't need 3.

My my my what to do what to do.

Hey Harry, good thing you checked the numbers before selling. I would certainly keep the ones that are that close together. Would net you more money if you sold them at the same time I would think. Would be great if you could fill in the 2 937's and have a run of 4 consecutive numbered watches.

That would be great. Actually all I need is 15452 and I would have a run of 3 then I could build on either side of that. Hey Ray did you ever find the 12s Hamilton's you were looking for? I have been seeing more on the bay lately.

No Harry, still looking for the right one. I let a solid gold one get away that i should have bought but couldnt part with my money Smile. After all these years of collecting I'm finally trying to pick one good one for my collection instead of buying 2 or 3 so-so versions.
