Jack DavisThos Russell & Son
I found this watch in a box lot at a recent auction and was hoping to get a little more information about it than is offered in Cooksey's book. The movement is engraved Liverpool, Makers to the Queen, Thos Russell & Son, serial number 37827.
It is stem wound and pin set. It only sets in a counter-clockwise direction.

Jack DavisThe case has hallmarks on both the inside of the back cover and cuvette leading me to believe it is sterling. The initials at the bottom of the HM are T.R.

Jack DavisThe dial is unmarked and has gold minute and hour hands. The seconds hand is not gold. A later replacement perhaps?

Jack DavisHi Bill,
I am a knuckle head! I guess I need to pay more attention to what forum I am logged into before posting.

Jack DavisTom,
Thanks for the date. Bill, you are sooo diplomatic!

Does anybody know how I can move this thread in it's entirety to the pocket watch forum? Or do I have to start from scratch?
