Ball "Single Roller" Question
Would anyone have an estimate on the number of Ball 999 17 jewel 18 size movements that were marked with single roller ....What Serial number would normally have a Ball marked case ?

John,

The basic information on these interesting movements is here in our Ball Watch Company Research Forum and specifically in the Ball Marked "SINGLE ROLLER" Watches topic. Follow both those links and you'll find a lot of in-depth information and several images.

Ball-Hamilton marked as "Single Roller" have shown up at a low number of 90101 and a high number of 284938 according to the data-base originated by Ed Ueberall and Kent Singer of "Railroader's Corner" fame and maintained here in public on our Discussion Site.

Apparently they were produced beginning in 1899 through 1903 production, before the 18-size "Ball Model" marked cases began in the 1906 time frame. From that information it would be fair to say marked "Single-Roller" movements were not originally in Ball Model cases.

Happy to be able to bring more attention to these unusual watches. If you or anyone else has another for the data-base please post it. If you have images to share they are also welcome.
