Steve MiddlesworthDon,
That is a beauty.....
The Meggars book (the Illinois Bible) list the serial number as one that was produced in a run of 1000 in serial number range 3541001-3542000 of which the total was not known at the time of printing. I have another source that says 500 were produced in that run as well as 100 produced in a run from 3595101-3595200 and another run of 100 in run 3799301-3799400 making a total of 700.
There was no known documentation about this, only observations. I have seen one that came out of the second run, 3595171,now yours out of the first run but I have not seen one from the third run so your guess is as good as mine as to actual numbers.
I have seen regular Bunn Specials out of the first run which were serial numbers after the first 500 so maybe all the first 500 were "all over gold".

Chris Abelllooks like the screw head snapped off and cap jewel missing, still hard to see does this help?

Donald D. McGregorJust a lighting issue. The screw, cap, and jewel are all there. This specimen appears to have the bottom plate covered in gold as well. Other known specimens do not appear to have this amount of coverage on the top plates and no coverage on the bottom plate.
