I have a favorite brand of American pocket
watches. The history, quality and the feeble
records can make for some great finds. My heart
thumpers are model 2's. Keith

I too have a sweet spot for the Rockford's as well, I very much like the key wind models.

Cheers,
Bila

Thanks Peter, I have a nickel model 6 13j,
and Bila I know from other forums and Rob
(my watch maker). Thanks for responding
guys.

I'm kinda learning how to navigate the site.
I'm just glad to see there are other Rockford
fans on board here. Keith

that is a rare one I believe , I just picked up a rockford keywind serial 116822 model 2 in an openface, running . They are another overlooked watch ,almost all are low production it seems.

Kevin, my model 2's are 66146, 157902, 58702
Ruby and one recent model 1. 136523, (I think)
with an add on Teske regulator. I love a model
2 which is KWSWLS.

latest just serviced.

Now that I explained why I'm here, I would
like to see more Howard and Rockford watches.
Perhaps there's a photo gallery here. I'm
still on the hunt for a Series I or II E.
Howard. Also always on the hunt for early Rockford's.

The rest of this model 1. I might as well
explain. I like the early key winds that
might have been used in early rail service,
hence the add on Teske mid 1880's.

Pretty good wear on the back design.

Also, I like super thick crystals!

Rob has not had my model 6 yet, the last
watchmaker confirmed 13j on my nickel model
6. I will have Rob re-confirm 13j next service.

And the front shot.

I had heard you guys were just good
collectors and from what I've seen, I'm
glad to be here. The case is a 3 ounce
Chicago Coin.

Looks like your hairspring needs some
attention and a service should fix you
right up. Normally gilt is my favorite
on plates and I've been going hard at
15j on all my key winds. Glad to see
some Rockford collectors hard at it.

I guess your talking about the regulator tilted all the way , they claimed it to be serviced and it does keep near perfect time , it will wait

Michael that is a great looking watch , Between you and Bryan it may be tough to get a deal on Rockfords now ! There have been some really nice ones come through here ,Desmond Lundy had a beautiful one on the used watch section ,wonder if he has anymore !

Thanks Kevin. This one actually came from the Bay. I'm really focusing on Illinois key winds from this era right now, but this Rockford was in such nice shape and the price was just so right I couldn't resist . . . Smile

I like Rockford 16s watches too--I have a 545, a 635, and a 645. But none of them have coin silver cases like my Model 1!

I've been leaning heavier on Rockfords of
late. Nice one Micheal.
