I own a couple Illinois WW movements in Master cases that people tell me were NOS Illinois movements Hamilton acquired in their acquisition of the Illinois Watch Co. Rather than case the Illinois movements, Hamilton sold them to case companies to be cased and sold independently... not sure how close to right this is, but it sounded good at the time.

Now I found this 1897 0s Seaside #8134064 in a case that is certainly much later than the movement.

I can't figure if it was a recase or a purpose built transitional watch.

Either way, it is very nicely done and will look great after a COA.

A Jeweler could well have cased that for a lady to decided in the 1920's to "upgrade" a pendant watch to a "deco" Wristwatch.
