Jon HartNon-Magnetic Watch: Jewel Number Question
18 size Non-Magnetic Watch Co serial number 36246
Anyone have the means to put a jewel # on this movement?

David AbbeJon, that is at least an 11 Jewel and with the double sunk dial is more likely to be 15J made by Peoria. The motor barrel cover plate cuts are very very unique. I hope someone can help confirm who made this!

Richard M. JonesDefinitely a Peoria. They made quite a few 18s Non Magnetics and all I have seen are 15 jewel but the non magnetic co had watches made from 7 jewel on up to complicated repeaters. Their Swiss made 16 size watches I have always found to be decent watches but I don't know who made them. The other American makers were Illinois and Elgin as far as I know.

Jared BrinkerIt was made by Peoria watch co. somewhere I had read that 90% or so of Peoria's watches were for the non-magnetic watch company, making peoria marked ones a lot harder to find. either way very nice watches that seem to always hold good value. Being marked adjusted just above the barrel cover (hard to see but I can see the top of the A & D on it), I am all but certain it is a 15 jewel watch.

Jon HartDavid, Deacon, and Jared:
Thanks for the information.
Some addition info to add:
It looks like Peoria made this 18s 15j for Non-Magnetic watch co of America during 1884-1888.
