Santa Fe Special with gold train
I just took apart my Santa Fe Special for a coa. I noticed hat the train appeared to be gold. I have not seen to many with a full gold train (except for te fourth wheel). Was the Santa Fe Special a higher end watch. Just curious

I believe all of the 16sz "Santa Fe" wheel trains were gold plated except perhaps for the Grade 606.

I feel sure that all of the Illinois grade watches with gold plated trains could be called "higher end" watches by most folks due to the quality material used and their inherent good looks.

Bruce, I've only got one Model 9 Illinois, but it has a gold train.

I don't even know what grade this is.

Even my unadjusted pendant-set Model 7 has a gold train. Most of my Gettys have gold trains.
