Your dial originally came on a 7 Jewel Elgin that was part of Elgin's entry into the lower priced watch market. Here are some posts about these dials and matching "Sun-Dial" movements with pictures although the material linked from those old postings are for the most part gone.

Roger J. NolfeThat's a pretty funny name for a low-end watch when you think about it. Did they mean it was the next step up from a sun-dial?
