Robert SchusselRare, even rarer in this condition
This is the 4th 12 size Hampden Duquesene (19 Jewel adusted to 3 positions )that I have acquired on Ebay over the past 10 years .You might say I cornered the market by being willing to pay $120 to $140 per watch.
There are only 500 blocked serial numbers for this grade ( I own the lowest known serial number) and less than 10 are currently known. The Duquesne is one of the rariest named 12 size Hampden grades.
I wanted to share this information because I think Hampden is still a great addition to most collections at a very low cost--even for the exceptionally rare ones.
One of the problems in acquiring a Duquesne in good condition is the cases are extremely thin and thus easily dented. The Biltmore another 12 size Hampden used a similar case and suffers from the same problem.
The watch I just acquired is by in the best condition of any of the Duquesne I have seen.
I hope the above might start to motivate some people to start collecting Hampdens.

John JohnstonRobert,
I was watching this one on Ebay and you almost had some competition on this one, but I have spent my budget for the next few months and had to let her go. At least it is going to a good home. Since you have five, I will be sure to contact you when I am looking for one in the future.

It is a fantastic watch Rob.
