UPLOAD pictures please !
To all

Today I was searching some information on our website and found some posts with had 'lost' their photos. Looking a little bit deeper to this I recognized that a lot of our members add pictures to their posts by linking to external sources like 'photobucket' and others. If the external source is deleted (some of the free photosharers delete after a few weeks automaticly), the information is lost. The result are posts with almost no further use !
It is frustrating to find a post where the answer might have been !

If pictures are uploaded with the add image function below the editor they are permanent stored on our server. More than one picture can be added by 'reply to post'.

A lot of our members are doing some work answering questions and solving problems. Not in a selfish way but to help and share knowledge and information. On long term this makes only sense if the quest and answer is permanent.

So please upload your pictures !

What do you think ?

Regards,
Gerald

I agree Gerald, I remember reading some where when I 1st joined Lindell had recommended the same thing for the same reason.

Gerald, I also agree with you and Tom....I always upload from my computer directly to the site and at first I couldn't because I was taking too high of resoultion with my camera....by reducing the resolution one can upload with no problem, and as you point out they are permanent....

I use Picasa which is a free download from Goggle and have had no problems at all with the program....and I know others have recommended the program to new members as well....

The purpose of most of the research that is compiled here is to benefit others in the future and if it not permanent then it will be lost and visual information is sometimes best and it needs to be permanent....

Regards,
Jerry

Thank you for the suggestions. I am not great at pictures and am still figuring it out. I will try Picasa and thanks to Jerry King.
