Bob KapinosElgin Grade 89 Doctor's Watch
I have just purchased an Elgin Doctor's Watch I have not seen many of these listed and I did not have time to ask for opinions before the auction ended. I know it's too late now but I would still like to see your comments and opinions on this watch.

Clayton R. CookeNice looking watch--all parts. Is it possible to find a second hand and wheel over the 4th for one of these watches? I have a model 84 that is missing both. Any assistance in locating these would be greatly appreciated. Thanks. Clayton

Bob KapinosThanks for the comments. I was hopeful that the watch was correct, but was not sure. I had very little time to make my decision to bid. I generally like railroad watches, but this one caught my eye. Since there was only one run of 1000 watches in grade 89 it would somewhat rare by Elgin standards. It sure would be interesting to know the history of these watches. If only they could talk!
Regards,
Bob

Brian C.Clayton,
If the sweep second wheel is what you need, and it has a cam, I have one as well as a sweep second hand, e-mail me.

Bob KapinosMy watch arrived on Wednesday and it has been keeping perfect time so far. It really seems to be a nice watch. It has a name and address engraved on the inner dust cover but I cannot make it out. The address appears to be New Albany, Ind. I was wondering if anyone knows what the original retail price would have been on this watch. I've not been able to find any original ads for it. I will try to post some pictures of my watch, but my photos are not as good looking as the watch..
Regards,
Bob
