Edward KitnerWaltham 1857
This watch shows up in the Waltham data base as an 1857 mdl made in 1859, but didn't all watches from that time period have kw/ks movements?
Thanks

Tom BrownDon't bank on my word, but I think that is a Seth Thomas Model 3 & not a Waltham.

David AbbeThis is unmistakably a Seth Thomas Model 1 or 3, givenm the 1887 serial number, I would guess the model 1 but have been wrong. Also, I must add this is a very interesting watch, equally so to an 1857 Waltham.

Edward KitnerTom, David
I believe you are right . I was lead to believe it was a waltham but couldn't find the movement or the regulator shown under the Walthams.
Then I got sidetracked by the absence of a key wind for a watch of that date.
Thanks again

David AbbeEd given the private label and the date, I would be very interested in collecting this piece if you are not interested, please advise who I should contact.
Thanks

David AbbeThank You Ed, I did the winning bid for this, which represents for too many reasons to count my soft spot for Albany Oregon, and this is a beauty. A Quick Google brought up the Jeweler's clock still standing and running in Downtown Albany.

Edward KitnerDavid,
I am happy you are the new owner of the watch.
When we can connect our watches to a person, place or thing it makes it just that much more interesting. Private label watches do that for us more readly than looking for a watch owned by a famous person, etc.
