I found this one the other night on Ebay. The price was very reasonable so I bought it. Does it appear to be correct? Your opinions would be appreciated.

Regards,

Bob

HI Bob, I looked at this listing too. The seller hsa a good record and the nice Motor Barrel Gold filled movement with a good looking Montogomery dial are definite pluses. So I think you did OK.

Bob,
A fully marked 940 is a good one to have in your collection. Smile

David and Tony,

Thanks for the reply. Usually I ask opinions before buying, but this time I took a chance. There is an old Hamilton ad I saw on the Elgin site that helped me to make my decision. The dial in the ad looks like my dial or so it seems to me.

Regards,

Bob

Let me know if you have any luck finding a new mainspring, last time I found one to fit the 940 I got the impression there were not many left.

Really nice 940, Bob! Is that a silveroid swing-out?I like that style bow.

Ted,

You are correct, it is a silveroid swing-out type case.

Hi Bob, Nice watch. Those 18 size Hamilton Montgomery Dials are not as easy to find, and in nice condition, For your 1st 940, good job.

Yes Bob, that is a nice looking 940 and in the Silveroid case, the workhorse case, will do you well indeed....The bow looks very stout also....

I agree with Leon, that dial is indeed hard to find and it is in great condition....you did well....

Jerry
