Howard case removal
Hello folks,
Could one of you more experienced horologists guide me through the process of removing the movement from the case of a 12S Howard OF watch?

It simply seems that the stem does not release from the movement. I have a nice working movement with a bad dial, and a non-working one with a nice dial. I simply want to make a switch.

Neither one wants to release. Any help appreciated.

There should be a detent screw that has to be unscrewed about 1 full turn.

The "detent" screw that locks the wind/set stem into the movement is marked below on a Howard 12s that passed through my collection.

The Crown and stem should pull out after about 1 turn out on this small screw

Thanks to both of you. I don't think I would have discovered that myself. Again thanks. I can be on my way!
