Have a private label Hamilton Grade 944 dial marked for a Jeweller named "P J Harwood" Portage la Prairie, wondering if anyone has heard of him and when he was in business, also was he a possible Time Inspector?

The ledgers have this has being sold to just "Montreal" no associated Jeweller/Retailer, was there a distribution Agent for Hamilton in Canada based in Montreal?

Hi Bila,

Apparently P.J. Harwood moved to Calgary Alberta, about 1905, where he had a jewelry store, and was listed as a CPR inspector.
I would imagine that the Montreal, is likely the MOntreal Watch Case Company, who I have seen as buying a lot of Hamilton Watches, and I would think that they sold/ distributed them to independent jewelers.

No Lorne, it is in a screw Bezel display case which has no markings.
