Elgin grade #194 with mustache lever? "Click" to Login or Register

Recently bought this Elgin grade #194 with mustache lever, 23 jewels, jeweled barrel, 12 size in a, for the watch I think, original solid 14 k OF case.
According to all the sources I have find (the guide and Elgin online database and a Roy Ehrhardt book I have about Elgin) this watch is not described as equipped with the moustache lever, well this is. Why is that? Were these mvt placed in certain cases? This case is marked LEON W C Co.
Have a great day!

Bernhard,

Pretty neat watch you have there!

I scanned a view of the "mustache lever" and highlighted the poised fork jewels for reference.

These forks were used on earlier 12-size Elgins.
