Cool item Jon! Kind of a peek-a-boo full-plate movement.

I do not collect Rockfords, but I have two modest solid gold examples.

The first is a 12-size Grade 335, circa 1910, in a 14k Dueber case.

Here is the movement. Although modest, it is very decorative. Full plate movements provided a much better "canvas" for decoration than lepine movements.

Cool movement Doug! I love those "turbine" winding wheels a lot of Rockfords have.

Thank you Ed.
I'm a big Fan of Rockford's.
I like all American watches. but
Rockford's, South Bends and Illinois are
the ones I seem to find my self looking for
the most.

Doug-I have a Rockford 525 that has both the grade number as well as the "RG" marking. Would this be an anomaly also? I got it at the fairgrounds show a couple of years ago. I must have just beaten you to it!

Hi Bill.
from what I can tell the 525 looks like an even mix of how they were marked. some just RG, some just 525, and some both. I like the ones marked with Both. I have tried to find some logic to why Rockford did this.? I have know idea yet.
you know if it were a 60 hour Bunn. they would call them Type 1,2 and 3. and you would have to look for one of each. Smile.
Looks like I need to get down to the Fairgrounds early.. Nice Find..

Outstanding photography too. I wish I could take a watch photo half as good as what Eric does. I rate his photos among the best on IHC185.
